Menotti’s vivacious and lyrical Trio elevates with operatic flair before a moment of quiet introspection in Sculthorpe’s Night Song and Brahms’ gorgeous Gestilte Sehnsucht (Assuaged Longing). The Suite for Trio by Aram Arutiunian concludes in a fervour of joyous Armenian colours.

Matt Laing draws us into the perplexing world of hypnogogia; the state between bein awake and asleep. In the world premiere, Laing's Night Terrors transports us into an imaginative dream-state, exploring the vivd darkness after we close our eyes.
